The Ministry Internship Program provides individuals with the opportunity to explore their long-term calling to ministry by giving them an opportunity to serve within our family of churches and placing them under the guidance of a mentor for a summer-long internship. Internship opportunities are customizable to the interests of the applicant, but include pastoral ministry, youth ministry, worship ministry, technology, or intercultural ministry. In 2019, we had 18 young adults serve in churches throughout the state.
If an applicant is accepted into the program, they will be expected to participate in a training program that begins in January. We will then work the trained mentors to find a placement that best suits the applicants ministry goals and geographical preference. Interns will also receive a summer salary provided by the church and/or the West Virginia Baptist Convention.
To apply, please fill out the application below. You should expect to hear back from us within two weeks of your application submission. Churches interested in hosting an intern for the summer are also asked to fill out the church application. The application period for the 2024 program is now open.
