2021 Annual Training Event

We are excited to offer this year’s Annual Training Event in a new format!  This year’s event will take place, free of cost, over the course of three evenings via Zoom.  Normally, our in-person event limits your involvement to only two workshops, but this year you’ll be able to attend up to six live workshops, plus receive recordings of the ones that you miss!  This is a great opportunity to learn from others in our WVBC family and to provide valuable training for your church leaders.

Discipleship at Home
Instructors: Lee Boso and Eric Kendall
Conversations with Lee and Eric about equipping families to grow as disciples together. They will offer resources, encouragement and stories of success and failures as they have explored family discipleship in their churches and homes.

Treasurers and Financial Secretaries

What are the responsibilities of church treasurer and financial secretary? What are some of the new laws we should be familiar with for 2021? How do I fill out the West Virginia Baptist Convention remittance forms? Those are just a few of the questions that will be answered in this workshop.

An interview-style presentation on the three primary areas of responsibility for the trustee – legal, financial and property management. Includes the perspective of a senior pastor, financial advisor and two trustees – one from a large church and one from a smaller church.

An Introduction to Phygital: Reach and Engage

Whether by design or out of necessity, a majority of our churches have some type of online presence. It might be your worship service, Bible study or another ministry. What if you could leverage that digital online presence to reach and engage the unchurched, thereby growing your physical church? Well, actually you can. The process is called “Phygital.”

A “microchurch” is a church where every member lives as a missionary. “Microchurch” refers to a church that intentionally plants a missional community among every subculture in a community.
